We’ve been wanting to organise a comedy evening with lots of very funny women for ages, so we’ve done it, and we have a great all line up!!
Mae Martin “My comedy hinges more on my stressing about the state of the world, and my confusion about my place in it. Being gay just adds a bit more to the confusion of my life.” – expect songs about teacher crushes, Buffy and Don Cheadle. http://www.maemartin.ca
Jackie Hagan is a Manchester based performance poet and stand up comedian. When she was 6, she danced out of an oversized Mother’s day card to the tune of war of the worlds as a gift to her Mum, she hasn’t changed much.
Charlie Benson tells horrible stories about love, sexual frustration, and 20th century atrocities, sometimes all at the same time. It’s almost like a teenage diary, except she hasn’t been a teenager for a while and most teenage girls don’t have an unhealthy obsession with the cold war and face paint.
Heena Patel abandoned the Black Country in favour of Manchester in search of adventure and beautiful women, but all she got was wet feet and boys.
Chella Quint is a comedy writer, performer, artist, educator, and old school zine girl from Brooklyn, New York who now lives in Sheffield. She is most well known for her adbusting comedy fanzine Adventures In Menstruating alongside tons of other awesome stuff. Chella will be compering the evening. chellaquint.wordpress.com
